Our Story

For over twenty years, Broadland Toilet Hire has been supplying portable toilet hire to Norfolk.

Our Story

Broadland Toilet Hire was established in 1997 by three friends, Robert, Spud and Robbie following the success of them building a mobile trailer toilet block for their annual charity event “The Studley Manor Ball”. When the unit was available, their friends would hire or sometimes borrow the trailer and very quickly the supply was unable to keep up with demand.

In 1999 a new partner, Alister came into the equation and Robbie and Spud, busy with their own ventures bowed out.  Robbie to run his marquee hire company Morton Event Hire and Spud to work in his family building firm Colin Read and Sons, both of which we still work with today.

It was then the decision was made to purchase some ‘Tardis’ type portable toilets to hire out in addition to the trailer unit.  Alister and Robert drove to Yorkshire and brought two PolyJohn Fleet toilets back to Norfolk on the back of an Isuzu.

Twenty three years later and Broadland Toilet Hire is now owned outright by one of the founding partners, Robert, who runs the business with his wife Alix.  PolyJohn toilets are still the make of toilet purchased, only now they come in groups of twenty on a lorry each year!  The fleet has grown to include disabled access toilets, hand wash stations, urinal blocks and welfare unit.

Being a family run and owned business, customer service and reliability has been the driving force behind the business from the start and remains at the forefront today.  Our customers know they can call us anytime and we’re always there to help and give advice.
